A cataclysm was created here with the creation of purple fog. No one expected that endless monsters would emerge from the deadly fumes. Now the task of the inhabitants of this world is to get rid of the fog and all magic. And this can be done by casting the last spell, which is what our charges will do.

The gameplay consists of tactical battles interspersed with attempts to strengthen and improve the settlement, and better equip your heroes.
There are two types of main activities. The combat phase takes up most of the time.
What makes life a little easier is that it is shown in advance – from which directions the monsters will attack. In accordance with these we build defenses. I was able to survive attacks from two sides, but I suspect they could come from four.
Loss occurs in two cases – if all the heroes are dead or if the monsters manage to demolish the center of the settlement (where, in fact, they cast the last spell, without which everything loses its meaning).
Enemies are pressing in in huge hordes. With each new wave comes more powerful and dangerous creatures.
Sometimes there are elite opponents. There are a large number of types of monsters, they differ radically in their combat capabilities and are capable of presenting surprises.
Battles take place in the form of tactics (and, what is important, not drawn out, as happens in some games), alternating moves of our warriors and enemies.
Heroes play a major role in defense. These are powerful warriors who, when used skillfully, mow down monsters quite quickly (at first). Each hero is unique, as he has a list of innate characteristics, both positive and negative.

Mana reserves (health also if damage is received) are regenerated only at the end of the battle and only by a certain (can be pumped up) amount, so some resource management occurs.
In addition, each unit cannot perform more than a certain number of actions and movements per turn (calculated separately). You won’t be able to spam firestorms.
When the enemies are repulsed, the time for peaceful development begins. Here we can choose trophies, upgrade our heroes, go see what’s new on the equipment market, try to equip the settlement a little with defensive structures and useful buildings.
For victories in battles we receive gold, building materials and, if you played well, an element of equipment (you will have to choose from several options).
Our units (at least the ones I saw) could be melee, archers or mages. In theory, you can change the specialization of fighters by giving them the appropriate equipment. True, the previous development will not go away.
As they kill adversaries, heroes gain levels, upgrade perks, main and auxiliary stats.
What’s noteworthy is that the list of perks for all heroes is identical, but we upgrade stats by choosing from a randomly generated list.
In the peace phase, you can visit the market with equipment and consumables. I highly recommend doing this, as the items sold can be critically useful for subsequent survival.
Equipment differs in rarity, stats (random) and minor improvements (random).

While the monsters have quieted down, you can slightly improve the settlement’s defenses. From what I have used so far – various walls and buildings, which allow additionally (the number of approaches is limited by the number of corresponding buildings and their individual pumping) to restore lives and mana to the heroes before the battle.
At some point we will most likely lose. Then we find ourselves in the global pumping window. We spend the essence knocked out from monsters in the dark side, and having achieved certain achievements, we will receive enhancements of light Light and darkness.

Early Access roadmap available. In this regard, I would like to note that, judging by the materials of the game that are still on Steam (screenshots, videos), it has indeed been quite seriously improved and is being improved for the better.
